Thanks for the submissions I received! I've been able to add many of them to the catalog, along with a few ideas of my own. There are 31 new designs including (at long last) stamps for the popular and beloved Smith-Corona Super-5, Blickensderfer, and Underwood No. 5. The stamp catalog has expanded to a total of 310 designs to choose from.

(I will be doing image and logo stamps this round, no address stamps.)

It's that time again—I'm going to do another typewriter stamp order, despite my previous statements that the fourth time would be my last. I apparently don't learn!

Orders aren't opening up just yet. First, I extend the invitation for you browse through the stamp catalog and see if there's anything you want that isn't available. If you have a suitable image for a stamp, I'd be glad to add that to the list of choices.

What makes a good candidate to be made into a stamp? Most importantly: bold, clear lines. Preferably black and white (not greyscale) and 600 dpi. Stamps range between 2 cm (3/4 inch) and 5 cm (2 inches) per side. This would mean an image for a 1 inch square stamp should be a minimum of 600 pixels on each side. Unfortunately while there are many great candidates for stamps in print advertising found online, it is not usually high enough resolution to make for a good stamp. Still, it doesn't have to be quite up to the ideal standard to make a pretty good stamp. So scans supplied by you tend to be better candidates. This Erika is a perfect example of what makes for a good stamp:

Sometimes photographs of decals work, but they have to be taken with even lighting and have strong contrast (like a gold decal on a black typewriter). I'll attempt to convert photos into stamps, but no promises there. Here are some examples showing how photos turn out in stamp form:

You have a week or two to gather and send me your images to be made into stamps. Email anything you find to me at the email address found on my contact page and I'll let you know if it's useable. All submissions will be added to the catalog before I open up the ordering process in September.

As mentioned, I will be offering return address stamps. The cost will be $4 each. If you're interested in one of those, select a stamp image that is bold and will not suffer detail loss when reduced in size. Let me know how you want an address stamp with that image and show me how you would like your address to be formatted exactly. I'll get back with you with a couple drafts using different fonts for you to choose from.

Typewriter stamps, round 3

There are about 20 new designs added since the first order, so there might be something new for your interest. You have all week to place your order, until 9 August which is when I'll send them off to be engraved. Payment is by paypal, and I will ship worldwide. If all goes as planned, your orders will ship out before the end of the month.

Remember when you place your order to keep the stamps divided in their 3 sections.

600dpi laser carving means quality you can't see with your naked eye!

Incidentally, the 120dpi scans I make for my blog can't show how good these look (and my somewhat dry stamp pad doesn't help, either). This is at 300 dpi using cheap copy paper.

I've affixed a lot of mine to pieces of cardboard because I'm cheap and I want to have a lot of them. XD If you aren't getting very many stamps, it's definitely worth getting the wooden blocks.

The Baby Empire #2574 / pica / $40 / The only Baby Empire known to have this decal. I thoroughly cleaned and oiled it, but the mainspring is broken and some of the less-used keys still need some more degunking. Comes with the original spools but no ribbon. / sold

The title courtesy of a new set of stamps I bought. Basically the same typeface as my other stamp kit, but half the size and a little more condensed. They're a bit newer than the other set, maybe from the 1920s.
