1954 Empire Aristocrat 94E454

Sent from my Empire Aristocrat

This Imperial has to be one of the strangest-looking typewriters ever made since the 1920s, though beautiful in its own way. The model number is misleading as it's more like a non-tab version of the Model T. For more photos of, check out its typewriter database gallery.

  1. I like those both. I'm suffering in the heat here too. Maybe we can find an air-conditioned place from which to skype the phx type in if the heat doesn't break.

    1. If it wasn't for the constant breeze from off the water, I don't know what I'd do.

Let's hope we don't have to.

  2. Here I'm blaming the cold for my lack of productivity. Nice typewriters - I just got an Empire Aristocrat - another one to add to my backlog of ones that need cleaning - it's the same as yours (but no "typewriter Bureau" sticker) and the paintwork's cracked and chipped here and there on mine. It's very nice to type on. Should be even better when I get around to cleaning it!

    1. Yeah, I'm really being lazy about that—there are soooo many pictures to sort through, and that's what's discouraging me. XD

  4. pretty good cosmetic shape on the both of them!
interesting thing about eBay UK is that i find a lot of typewriters are collection only.
and no one bids on those.
ive flirted with the idea of hiring a courier to pick it up for me and ship it my way.
I want an Imperial! but the cost is really prohibitive. Perhaps once i find a worthy machine, ill go all out and just fly there to pick it up hahaha

    1. It's sadly true that a lot of ebay sellers in the UK are lazy. XD They loose out on a lot of money, but if you happen to live close to them, you can get a good deal.

  5. i've had about 5 Empire Aristocrats......good machines but if the platen shrinks and hardens they are to expensive to repair. I only have one typewriter now. Its a late 40's Empire Aristocrat and its still a runner!
