Coincidentally, a collector in France was in touch with me with news of a Blue Bird (Torpedo 15a) he'd just got. You'd wince at the awful paint job but it looks like these machines really get under people's skin. Heck, I still fetishise the Good Companion 5. Someone, somewhere, did something right on the drawing board. Adieu.
And I do also miss Yahoo's chat function. Collectors are a funny bunch. I've seen a few that get foul and angry and can get just right nasty to other collectors. And some of them are just that kind of person.
Beautiful Typer! Looking forward to more typewriter articles.
ReplyDeleteI'm less green with envy, since I have a green one myself. But not as pristine as yours (as usual). ;)
ReplyDeleteI was worrying this might turn some folks green with envy. :P Good to hear you're exempt.
DeleteVery beautiful typewriter! Great choice on the green ribbon too!
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking machine :) I cannot wait to see what you have coming up next! Kind regards,
ReplyDeleteTalk about minty!
ReplyDelete...I sometimes just want to lick it.

ReplyDeleteAt the drawing board, and in the factory!
DeleteI remember those days well. It's a shame that Yahoo took the chat feature off, but I think we've all found other ways to communicate.
ReplyDeleteThis is indeed a very beautiful machine.
ReplyDeleteNOMNOM! :D
ReplyDeleteOhhhh that's a damn sexy example of a Torpedo. Not quite as nice as your white one though.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do also miss Yahoo's chat function.
