Must be the explorer in you who say's "Better to travel in hope...". It is, really. Planned stuff always seems to go wrong and can stops you seeing what you didn't expect. Sound like a memorable drive!
I'm well-used to trips never ending up quite like they were planned, and usually I do start out with only a vague idea of what I want to do. I think I was a little too confident in my plan this time! It definitely was memorable.
WEll, you may not have seen the lights, but it sounds like you had an enjoyable trip. I've seen them when I lived in PA, but here in FL we'd never be able to see them. For some reason water falls seem spooky in the dark.
I've seen small waterfalls, unlit and off the side of country roads, at night before and even then it was a bit spooky. Snoqualmie Falls are quite big and higher than they look in these pictures and the effect was definitely magnified.
Love the streetlight photo over the bridge. I have to day, little goes how I expect when I head out the door. I've learned the further I am going to travel, the best it is to not have a plan, but rather throw yourself at it and instead plan for eventualities.
Thanks! I realized afterwards that it could make a good album cover image.I usually don't have much of a plan, and now I know why! It never goes quite like you hope because nature is wonderfully unpredictable.
