Imperial Good Companion 5
I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote "starting at".
Maybe the carrying case costs extra? How rude. Either way, £1699 is a bargain.

Line drawings always look spiffy on a dark blue background.
I've probably spent too much time in Adobe Illustrator this week.
I think you've spent exactly enough time. (:
ReplyDeleteIllustrator is fun. The white on blue looks great. I've never seen many real blueprints in all my years in engineering -- only a few from the 30s for some broadcast towers. Always thought white on blue looks better than the blue on white which the ones now are all black on white.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why it looks better; it's not like diagrams have always been reproduced that way, it was just for a rather short time in history. But it seems right that way.
DeleteIt wouldn't be a good companion for long. I'd start to resent how much it cost me! (Steve K - for some reason my WordPress credentials not accepted!!)
ReplyDeleteThat's the reason why quality typewriter manufacturing will never be revived—with so many cheap and almost free, excellent typewriters around, nobody would pay the price for a new one.
DeleteThis looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen Rob Bowker's manual for the GC5?

Thanks!
DeleteYeah, I did and I enjoyed it a lot.
