Rotary phones and online typewriter buying guides

This was my Torpedo (Harrods) 17. The shadows quiz game would contain both very common and less common models, hopefully making it a challenging game that still gives some satisfaction!

The phone even came to me from Michigan!

Here's where I found:

  1. Ooh, now I'll have to dig out the pair of rotary phones I have in storage. Yet another Typospherian fetish :D

    1. It's really hard not to spend lots of money to get myself a trimphone shipped over from the UK. ( http://www.phone-pages.org.uk/trim1.jpg ) I've loved them ever since I saw them used throughout 1970s Doctor Who.

    2. ooh, sharp-looking! Now I kind of want one, despite the unlikelyhood of it ever working with the US phone current standards. :D

  2. Nice looking phone. Sure is great you were able to find one. I'm on fiber so I cannot use rotary since there is no D.C. to run the ringer and the dial pulses need copper too. I could build a converter though. I still have some old rotary and touch tone phones in the shop. Some even have audio couplers.

    1. Seems like there's an endless supply of them on ebay going rather cheaply, as long as you don't want a red or yellow or pink one.

We don't even have phone service at all! This is merely for decoration...

  3. Phones! Those would definitely be my other addiction if I only had more space...

Looking forward to see your "new" room. The small hints you already showed look very promising!
