1960s-1980s typing paper

There's some typing paper covers for you all. I rather like the first two designs.
These came with my Webster XL-500 that I bought last year.

  1. I love the "Cloud Ripple" design.

  2. I wonder why the odd number of sheets?

    1. I wish I knew They weren't selling these in usual reams like they would for office use, as they were often sold out of stationary aisles of pharmacies and supermarkets. Normal projects didn't call for a ream or half a ream so I'm sure getting a package around 50 sheets was seen as adequate, though some paper was specifically formulated to be erasable too.

  3. I remember typing paper, I loved it! It was nice and crinkly and turned yellow on the edges just 2 weeks after you bought it. It was so right for type writers!

  4. Is anyone still producing paper just for typing? I recall how thin it used to be, almost like vellum.

    1. Whoever owns Mead still puts this out.

  5. That last cover with "Spartan" written on it happens to be from a supermarket chain based out of Grand Rapids, MI (referred to as "Spartan Foods"). This was probably sold down the stationary aisle of their stores and affiliates.

    1. Yep! You can see the Gold Shield paper also shows the distributor as Spartan Stores. A few years before this was posted, probably around 2008, I bought some typing paper at a Spartan store (although it was by Mead)

    2. At present, there is a so-called "Food Town" that is really one of the 'remnants' of the former store owned by someone else who appears to be dealing with Spartan for their business.

Haven't been here at all though I don't suppose I'll find any typing paper these days, yet I did pick up a pad of Mead's erasable bond typing paper here a few years back, I'm surprise such drug stores like this exist at all these days...
