Typewriter silhouette quiz

I tried to pick models that had, whether common or rare, unique features that would aid in identification. 24 is a lot… I tried to narrow it down a little more but I couldn't!

Good luck everybody—submit your answers in the comments below with each guess numbered and on its own line. The results will be revealed in a couple days. (would you believe me if I said the winner gets a prize?)

Of course they do! Would I lie? (You can't be a winner if you don't win anything, can you?) The person who guesses the most correctly, and by correct I mean guessing brand and a general model range idea (half points given out for the correct brand but missing or incorrect model/range) will win a pack of the typosphere post cards Rob Bowker printed out last year.

Horizontal chromed bands

I was impressed to find out a few months ago that the chromed bands are actually integrated into the body, rather than separate parts as they are on, for example, Olympia SM3s. That fact, combined with their sheer width, means they have a very massive look to them. As Richard Polt noted yesterday, the vertical black lines are decals, rather than grooves. (I had previously thought they were grooves too)

Rotary phones and online typewriter buying guides

This was my Torpedo (Harrods) 17. The shadows quiz game would contain both very common and less common models, hopefully making it a challenging game that still gives some satisfaction!
